Is it possible to make a career as an online hypnotherapist?

Answer:

Virtual hypnotherapy is not only possible but has opened up incredible access and flexibility for clients and practitioners alike. It’s probably best to do a mix of virtual and in person, but online only is quite possible.

About five years ago most people would have thought it would be impossible to do all (or even most) of your sessions virtually. The entire planet being under house arrest while covid did its thing changed all that. Now it is very rare for a hypnotherapist not to offer virtual sessions.

One very important thing to remember when running a hypnotherapy business is that ‘hypnotherapy business’ is two words not one, and it’s the ‘business’ part that’s the important bit. It doesn’t matter if you are the greatest hypnotherapist to have ever lived. If you are terrible at the business side of things, you aren’t going to last long. I have seen the statistic that more than three quarters of qualified hypnotherapists that start a business, are no longer in business two years later. And from what I’ve seen, I have no reason to doubt that number. And that’s not with the added difficulty of rejecting all in person clients too.

So yes, it can be done, many are doing just that. However. it being possible, and it being easy are two very different things.
