Can You Hypnotise Someone to Do What You Want?

Question:

How do you hypnotize someone to do what you want?

Answer:

You have to have them want it too.

You can’t force somebody to do something against their wishes with hypnosis. Real-world hypnosis is nothing at all like how it’s portrayed in movies and on TV shows. In real hypnosis, the hypnotee is always in full control. If you ask them to do something they don’t want to, they just won’t do it. It isn’t mind control. Both the hypnotist and the hypnotee have to work together for a shared outcome. You can try to persuade somebody to do something they wouldn’t normally do, but that doesn’t rely on hypnosis, there are plenty of people talked into stuff outside of hypnosis every day. Just because they are in hypnosis doesn’t mean they will just accept your persuasion attempt.

So it all comes down to what you are meaning by your original question, but by and large, you just can’t.
